Ghosts of the Czars

From the Hermitage to Peterhoff, the seasons turn, summer and winter, life and death. History whispers its secrets. Listen for the dusty edges, the secluded corners, the moments frozen in time.
And finally, you will find this secret world. Where kings and queens remained men and women, far from divine, achingly human.
All the king's horses and all the king's men—all that are left are dust and ash and dust again.

How many more stories are there to tell?

A Summer Day on Nevsky Prospekt

I used four rolls of film for my entire St. Petersburg trip, and unfortunately, I've only been able to upload them now.

Nevsky Prospekt is St. Petersburg's main avenue and high street. It follows the course of the Neva River and holds some of the city's oldest and most culturally significant buildings. Thankfully, modern establishments are required to maintain the traditional facades.

I forgot what these dishes were called but they were delicious and I wish I could recreate them.
So many street artists!
Unfortunately, the Church of Spilled Blood was being renovated when we visited.
